A NEW ZEALANDER +
A DANISH MAN MEET ON A MOUNTAIN TOP IN JAPAN.

What happens when a New Zealand Lifestyle Outdoors and Japan Guru meets a Danish Outdoor Hotelier and Foodie?

And no, this isn't a classic tale about "three men walking into a bar", but rather two keen mountain and Island explorers meeting high up on the trails in the Japan Alps.

What this is, is the story of David Laing and Caspar Schmidt, meeting five years ago  on a long mountain hike in Nagano, Hakuba.

When these two powerhouse energies took a rest halfway up the mountains, they got talking about their true passions outside of their work of Real Estate investment and Hotel Operations.

From there it just happened for these  two outdoor guys were meant to meet and go on to create www.theglamp.com

The overarching idea was inspired by the lack of curated items for outdoor adventure and "Fresh Air" under "The Stars" that appealed to people from all walks of life and of all ages.

From there, their mutual love for the simplicity and common beauty of the outdoors and cultures of Japan, the place where they both live, work and travel for most of the year with their Families started to enter into the conversation and inspire this unique business idea of how to share great outdoor experience, the Japanese culture, Foodie and true "fresh Air" experiences with other folks.

Their vision they share is ultimately about connecting people back into nature. This is one of the key strategies David and Caspar have used for many years, to successfully get through busy and challenging periods in their own lives.

Inspired by simple but beautiful accommodation's and the belief that everyone can benefit from time spent out in nature - the final product brings together the best of it all under one website, that is now on offer to all traveller's.

Theglamp.com is really what you get when you bring a passion for the outdoors, decades of hoteliering and a love for bringing people  together through incredible food , drink ,cultural experiences and “fresh air” out in nature.
